The primary purpose of a Dean's Certification is to provide information regarding academic and disciplinary misconduct, or the absence thereof.

If requested by a professional school, the Undergraduate Deans Office will report any major disciplinary sanctions, such as Conduct Suspension or Separation, or Academic Suspension or Separation. It is not College policy to report the specific details of disciplinary proceedings. However, if a professional school requests additional information, we will provide the same Community Standards and Accountability (formerly Judicial Affairs) letter that was provided to the student.

If a student would like our office to report non-Suspension or Separation events, they must contact Dominique Walton at undergraduate.deans.office@dartmouth.edu and complete a Third Party Release Form, giving the Undergraduate Deans Office permission to disclose this information.

Please submit the form provided by the professional school, with your section completed and signed, to Dominique Walton in the Undergraduate Deans Office via email at undergraduate.deans.office@dartmouth.edu.

If the professional school does not provide a form, please email your request to undergraduate.deans.office@dartmouth.edu including the specific information that is required.

If you are seeking information from your student file for your own reporting purposes, such as completing an application, please contact Dominique Walton at undergraduate.deans.office@dartmouth.edu.

Due to the high volume of requests, Dean's Certifications may take 1–3 weeks to process. Processing time may vary depending on how long ago you graduated and whether there are violations in your record. Please plan accordingly and submit your request well in advance of any deadline.

Dean's Certifications will only be sent directly to professional schools that require them.
