A native of Pennsylvania, Dean Stratton, was born and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs. After high school he moved to Florida where he lived for nearly 18 years before relocating to the upper valley to begin working at Dartmouth in 2016. A graduate of Florida State University, he earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary social science and a PhD in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs. He also holds master's degrees from DePaul University in Chicago (Educational Leadership) and Dartmouth College (Liberal Studies with a concentration in Creative Writing). Before serving as an Undergraduate Dean, Ted has worked as a public middle and high school teacher and coach, academic advisor, staff member and program director in the Florida Department of Education, and as a residential life and student affairs professional. When not on campus, Ted enjoys reading & writing, traveling, coaching youth sports, and spending time with friends and family especially his wife and two children at their home in nearby Lebanon, NH.
